Apollo Theatre

Apollo Theatre is located at Shaftesbury Avenue, London, United Kingdom W1D 7EZ. The Apollo Theatre is one of the major West End theatres positioned on Shaftesbury Avenue. On February 1901, theatre made its debut and was the fourth theatre built on the street. The Grade II listed building, has occupancy of 775 seats. Apollo is the first theatre which is completed in the Edwardian Period. Architect Lewin Sharp designed the theatre and his only complete theatre design. The theatre has been originally designed for musical theatre and derived its name from the Greek god of the arts, Apollo.

The Apollo Theatre is situated at one of the most popular London streets known as Shaftesbury Avenue. The venue is the abode for host of other auditoriums such as Lyric and Queen's. The streets are crowded with theatre goers, visitors and locals. Some of the finest restaurants and bars in Chinatown are located at a nearby distance. You can also enjoy visit to Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Piccadilly Circus as they are located around the Apollo Theatre.

For those who are planning to visit the theatre no need to worry, as Apollo theatre is located at an easily accessible location. You can visit the theatre via tubes, buses, taxis and cars. The nearest tube station to the Apollo Theatre is Piccadilly Circus on both the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines.  The station is located at a three distance from the theatre. You can also board bus numbers 1, 14, 19, 22, 24, 29, 38, 55 and 176 all stop close to the theatre.

You can also hire a taxi or drive your own car, as the nearest car park is the Soho Q-Park on Poland Street. This car park participates in a half-price theatre parking scheme, which means you may pay as little as £10 for up to 4 hours of parking. With a small seating capacity of 775, the auditorium is spread across four levels– the Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle and Balcony. For bets viewing experience, go to the Stalls section which is the closest to the stage and also the largest seating capacity. Other sections are Dress Circle and Grand Circle.
