Giggs and Son constructed the theatre in the year 1929,whereas Edward Stone designed the theatre. The theatre marked its debut onApril 1930 with a production of Rio Rita. The theatre wastransformed into a dance and cabaret hall by Edward Stone in the year 1935 andwas renamed as the London Casino. Due to severe air raid of WWII, the LondonCasino was badly damaged in May 1941. All the buildings in Greek Street werebombed and destroyed. The theatre underwent restoration and renamed as theQueensberry All Services Club. This was a famous club for servicemen and itsshows were broadcast on the BBC. Year 1954 brought some more transformationsand was transformed into a Cinerama. However, year 1974 marked the reopening ofPrince Edward Theatre with the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of Evita.
