The magnificentLondon Westend Prince Edward Theatre is one of the most promising and stunningArt Deco theatres. It is located on Old Compton Street in Soho, just behindLeicester Square. Giggs and Son constructed the theatre in the year 1929,whereas Edward Stone designed the theatre. The theatre marked its debut onApril 1930 with a production of Rio Rita. This was a musical comedy by HarryTierney.

The theatre wastransformed into a dance and cabaret hall by Edward Stone in the year 1935 andwas renamed as the London Casino. Due to severe air raid of WWII, the LondonCasino was badly damaged in May 1941. All the buildings in Greek Street werebombed and destroyed. The theatre underwent restoration and renamed as theQueensberry All Services Club. This was a famous club for servicemen and itsshows were broadcast on the BBC. Year 1954 brought some more transformationsand was transformed into a Cinerama. However, year 1974 marked the reopening ofPrince Edward Theatre with the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of Evita.

The stunningtheatre has an astounding occupancy of 1,716 seat and known for hosting some ofthe powerful blockbuster smash-hits like Anything Goes, Some Like It Hot, WestSide Story, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Jersey Boys, Miss Saigon and now Disney’sAladdin.

For those whoare planning to visit the Prince Edward Theatre, no need to worry, as thetheatre is positioned at an easily accessible location. The popular theatre ispositioned in the busy area of Soho, on Old Compton Street. Some of the popularnearby destinations to watch out for are Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circusand Covent Garden. For those who are planning to visit the theatre via tubes, then thenearest tube station to the theatre is Leicester Square. The popularLondon Westend Prince Edward Theatre has astounding occupancy of 1,618 people.The theatre is spread across three levels as Stalls, Dress Circle and Upper Circle.The Stall section is quite large and near to the stage. If you are looking forbest seats then go for Central seats in the middle of the Stalls, whereas frontcouple of rows have lower costs. If you go further back then price will alsodecrease. The Stalls are categorised into a front and rear section by a widecentral aisle, whereas the rear section is split into three smaller sections.

This production contains theatrical smoke & fog effects, pyrotechnics, strobe lighting & loud noises. Please note there will be an auditorium blackout of 8 seconds around 45 minutes into the performance.

Aladdin is recommended for a general audience. As an advisory to adults who might bring young people, Disney recommends Aladdin for ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 3 will not be admitted into the theatre. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied and sat next to the accompanying adult. They may not sit on their own within the auditorium. If children do have separate seats you could be refused entry. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
