Cambridge Theatre

Enjoy the award winning London show, Matilda The Musical at the the Cambridge Theatre! Being one of the youngest and most attractive theatres in the West End, the popular theatre made its grand debut in the year 1930. Serge Chemayeff of Waring and Gillow did some stunning interior decoration. In the year 1986, theatre was restored under the supervision of Carl Toms.

Currently, Cambridge Theatre is hosting Royal Shakespeare’s production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda. Theatre has 3 licensed bars with Stalls bar down 22 steps with moveable seats, Royal Circle bar 31 steps from the foyer and another bar in Upper Circle.

The popular London Westend theatre is positioned at Seven Dials,               London,               WC2H 9HU. It is located at a nearby distance from Covent Garden tube station in the heart of London’s theatreland. The venue features busy bars and wide range of restaurants. The theatre is located at an easily accessible location and can be commuted via various modes of commutations such as buses, tubes, taxis and cars.

The venue also features high street and boutique shops, as well as Covent Garden Market. You can also buy unique gifts and mementos. London Transport Museum, Royal Opera House and Leicester Square are some of the popular tourist spots.

You can visit the theatre via tube, as the nearest station to the theatre is Covent Garden on the Piccadilly line. You can also board bus numbers 1, 14, 19, 22, 29, 34, 55 and 176. You can also hire a taxi or drive your own car as the nearest car park is National Car Park on St Martin’s Lane which charges £24 for a 4 to 6 hour stay. There are also parking meters on Earlham Street, the street of the theatre itself, with space for eleven cars, or two meters on Mercer Street, less than a minute’s walk from the theatre.

The Cambridge Theatre has astounding occupancy of 1,287 and spread across three levels – the Stalls, Dress Circle and Upper Circle. For those who are looking for best viewing experience, can go for the Stalls section. Next section is The Dress Circle which is categorised into three sections by two aisles which run width ways.  You can go for the front seats as best to feel as close to the action as possible.

 

The Upper Circle is divided into a front and back section by a central aisle running length ways. The front section provides the best views of the stage, although most of the section is unobstructed.
