Matilda The Musical


Matilda TheMusical is one of the most love and popular Roald Dahl’s heart touching saga ofan extraordinary girl. She is a child with hideous parents and has amazingtalent for learning. The spectacular production by Tim Minchin and the RoyalShakespeare Company is the story of a young girl, Matilda Wormwood.

Matilda hasuncaring parents who do not bother about her education. She also possess someextraordinary talent besides intellectual brilliance. Whenever, her parentstreat her badly, she teaches them a lesson. She is also bothered a lot by theterrifying and tyrannical headmistress Miss Trunchbull.

In the year2010, the awardwinning show, Matilda The Musical made its grand premiere at theRSC’s Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. The show went on becoming ahuge success record-breaking (at the time) seven Olivier Awards along with fourTony Awards. The show was also transferred to Broadway in 2013 and adjudged asBest New Musical.

In the historyof Cambridge theatre, Matilda The Musical has become of the longest runningproduction. The show also won 86 major international awards and has beenenjoyed across by millions of people worldwide, including London, Australia,New Zealand and on tour in North America.

The stunningcolourful world of mischief has some rib tickling moments, where MatthewWarchus is the Artistic Director of The Old Vic. Dennis Kelly has adapted forstage version and known for some remarkable works such as The Gods Weep, OsamaThe Hero and Love And Money.

Matilda TheMusical features music and lyrics from award-winning, Australian musician andcomedian Tim Minchin. The show features some chartbusting songs includingNaughty, Quiet, Revolting Children and School Song. The show is enjoyed bypeople of all age groups and has become a West End delight.
