Duchess Theatre

The popular London theatre, The Duchess Theatre is positioned at 3-5 Catherine Street, London, WC2B 5LA close to the North Bank. The popular theatre made its debut in the year 1929. This intimate theatre  is the West End’s smallest Proscenium Arch space with occupancy of 494 and split across two levels. The theatre is known for one man shows and plays. 

Currently, the theatre is hosting the rib tickling funny and farcical Olivier Award winning show, The Play that Goes Wrong. The show has entered into its third year. Ewen Barr designed the stunning intimate theatre and made its debut with a play named as Tunnel Trench. Year 1930 witnessed another interesting event at the Duchess with the running of shortest performance in the West End history with the closing of Intimate Revue that didn’t even complete its first performance! Nimax Theatre Group is the current owner of the theatre.

The Duchess Theatre is positioned on the famous Catherine Street, it is one of the many side streets that are branching off the main Covent Garden area and close to the famous Drury Lane. The venue is immensely popular amongst theatre lovers and visitors as there are some of the finest and multitude of bars, restaurants and cafés at a nearby distance. Covent Garden is at a walking distance from the theatre featuring some of the finest and widest range of eateries and a market, and other notable attractions such as English National Opera, London Transport Museum and several other major theatres.
